I had mentioned in a previous post, that I tend to get emails that are forwarded to me with the exhortation to pass it on. This was one I got recently, so I will pass it on to you for your expert opinions on the subject. I would like to give credit to the author, but alas I can't determine who it was. Perhaps one of you out there could enlighten us.
My great grandfather watched as his friends died in the Civil War, my father watched as his friends died in WW II, and I watched as my friends died in Vietnam.
They all died for the U.S. flag.
None of them died for the Mexican Flag.
In Texas, a student raised a Mexican flag on a school flag pole; another student took it down. Guess who was expelled...the kid who took it down.
Kids in high school in California were sent home this year on Cinco de Mayo because they wore T-shirts with the American flag printed on them.
Enough is enough.
We've bent over to appease the America-haters long enough.
I'm taking a stand.
I'm standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country and for the U.S. flag can't stand up. And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message. Let me make this perfectly clear!
THIS IS MY COUNTRY!
And, because I make This statement, it DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration!!!
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN MY COUNTRY!
Welcome! To come through legally:
1. Get a sponsor!
2. Get a place to lay your head!
3. Get a job!
4. Live By OUR Rules!
5. Pay YOUR Taxes!
6. Learn the LANGUAGE like immigrants have in the past!!!
AND
7. Please don't demand that we hand over our lifetime savings of Social Security Funds to you.
If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone, then YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!
When will AMERICANS STOP giving away THEIR RIGHTS???
We've gone so far the other way... bent over backwards not to offend anyone. But it seems no one cares about the AMERICAN CITIZEN who is being offended!

In the early 50's Iran was completely redone by the CI agency. The Shah was installed without too much trouble. Then in 79' a few students, evidently, caused that powerful agency to go - to - rubber.
And 1/3 of the proven petroleum reserves fell to a convenient enemy - Wow

I've waited a while before posting any comment to this entry. I *winced* the entire way through.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the *list* of rules...definitely. I have a problem with the idea of the Mexican flag being an arbitrary thing in the U.S. ~ particularly as a Daughter of Texas. When Texans (and I mean REAL Texans, not the wannabe transplants) say, "Remember the Alamo" ~ REAL Texans are also honoring the Tejanos...
...if the meaning of Tejanos as the term relates to Texas & American history, go look here: http://www.houstonculture.org/hispanic/alamo.html ~~ and realize that by birthright, I AM a DoT, and a Daughter of the American Revolution -- and am nobody's apologist.
People who forget the Mexicans' role in our country need to learn (even if for the first time) that not all Mexicans are "illegals"...that Spanish is a central component of the American English tongue, WAY before Dutch, German, or French...and that being American isn't limited to the United States OF America. That "OF" is significant.
*heavy sigh* And this, from a proud, if usually quiet about her patriotism, American. No hyphen any-effing-where. <3
